COURSE DETAILS

Earn 1 CE (CAMFT CE Provider #59045)

Description: This workshop teaches therapists about experiential therapy, how experiential therapy varies from talk therapy and how experiential therapy can help clients. Based on research that our body “keeps the score,” experiential therapy uses the body, mind and spirit to heal more deeply and fully than just talk therapy alone.

After a brief introduction to experiential therapy, therapists will learn the three key elements of experiential therapy and how it works in therapy. Therapists will then apply what they have learned in vivo.

Learning Objectives:

1. Participants will be able to identify three key concepts of Experiential Therapy.

2. Participants will be able to state two things Experiential therapy treats.

3. Participants will be able to name two of five Experiential Therapies.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKER

Kristie was eight when her first niece was born, and she was deemed the wrangler of all the consecutive children born into the family. She was nine when her brother died. The culmination of those life events began to lay a yellow brick road of wanting to help children with “hard stuff.” Along her path, she gathered resources as a Professional Sign Language Interpreter, a Credentialed Teacher and now as a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Supervisor, Registered Play Therapist Supervisor, Educator, Speaker and Lego Serious Play Facilitator. Kristie is the Founder of Connected Life Center (CLC), and co-creator with all the amazing colleagues that have contributed to what CLC is today. Connected Life Center specializes in helping children, teens, individuals and families through Play Therapy and other Experiential Modalities. It is a land like no other. There is no wizard behind a curtain, but instead of community based on Care, Competency, Collaboration and Connection to reciprocally benefit clients and clinicians in this very unpredictable story of Life.
