Attendees can expect to learn:

    This presentation will provide an overview of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy principles and techniques appropriate for complex and dually-diagnosed client populations. Case examples, and role-play practice will be utilized. Practical instruction on explaining on the CBT model, performing functional analysis, and using CBT techniques will be emphasized.

    Course meets the qualifications for one (1) hour of continuing education credit for MFTs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.


    ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

    Dr. Chelsea Cawood received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Her clinical training focused on evidence-based treatments, with an emphasis on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapies. Dr. Cawood is a current member of the Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT), and the Association for Contextual Behavioral Therapies. She has completed extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Currently, Dr. Cawood facilitates DBT skills groups and CBT groups, and provides individual therapy using DBT and CBT in a dually-diagnosed residential treatment setting.
