Susan Jester, M.A., LMFT, is the Associate Director of the Frances Smith Center for Individual and Family Therapy at Chapman University, as well as a clinical supervisor. She is a clinical member of both the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (CAMFT) and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), and is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. In addition, she has taught courses in couples therapy and domestic violence, counseling process, and clinical supervision. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California and maintains a private practice in Tustin where she has employed MFT interns. She is in her third year of training in Somatic Experiencing, a psychobiological approach in the treatment of trauma. In addition, she completed her certificate in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Newport Psychoanalytic Institute. Her clinical interests are attachment theory, emotionally focused therapy, trauma, and interpersonal neurobiology. She has enjoyed working with MFT trainees for over 20 years, and views supervision as a type of mentorship.
