Course Description:

Psychotherapy alone is not always the answer. More research is validating adjunct therapies and interventions that along with therapy can bring about transformation for clients. This presentation will discuss the research that supports referring other treatments alongside psychotherapy to enhance treatment outcomes. Adjunct therapies useful to trauma, depression, anxiety, self-regulation for children with ADHD, behavioral issues will be discussed

Each member will have their individual order taken at the time of the event, which includes the following options:

Soup or Salad Choice:

  • Field Greens w/ Parmesan Vinaigrette
  • Clam Chowder

Entree:

  • Mini Tenderloin Sandwiches with Parmesan Truffle Fries
  • Parmesan-Crusted Salmon with Roasted Garlic, Baby Tomatoes and White Wine Lemon Butter
  • Roasted Chicken Breast with Mushroom and Parmesan Risotto (vegetarian option available upon request)

Dessert:

  • Capital Grille Dessert Platters (cheesecake, crème brulee, flourless chocolate cake)

Each guest will also enjoy fresh bread and butter service, non-alcoholic beverages, water service, and freshly brewed iced tea. Alcoholic beverages available for purchase.


Learning Objectives:

  1. Discuss the mind body connection and research that supports.
  2. Discuss how conceptualizing treatment is changing with the addition of holistic therapies to support therapeutic outcome.
  3. Discuss adjunct therapies and referrals that are available for the clinician to refer to and coordinate treatment.

  • Course meets the qualifications for 1 hour of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Jenna Flowers PsyD, MFT has been practicing since 2006. She is the Clinical Director at Mainspring Family Wellness: a center dedicated to counseling services, bodywork, hypnosis and parenting. She is the author of The Conscious Parent's Guide to Coparenting, and Co-host of the Mainspring Family Wellness Podcast where all thing parenting, all things family wellness are discussed.
