Webinar Description 

This presentation will review the nature of sexual concerns among trauma survivors, as well as the importance of addressing these concerns in therapy. A sex-positive approach to addressing these concerns will be reviewed along with the rationale of using this approach. Finally, the audience will learn how to modify/tailor existing evidence based interventions (cognitive restructuring, exposure, mindfulness/acceptance) to address sexuality concerns among trauma survivors.

One complimentary CEU for this webinar will be provided via email to all registered OC CAMFT members. Members must be logged in for the duration of the webinar to receive a CEU. A recording will be accessible to Members only. Members of OC CAMFT are invited to submit questions for a Q&A period to membership@occamft.orgNote:  The webinar link will be sent via email to registrants on Wednesday April 24th.

After the webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe clinical benefit of addressing sexuality among trauma survivors.
  2. Describe a sex-positive approach to assessing, conceptualizing, and treating sexuality concerns among trauma survivors.
  3. Apply existing evidence-based treatment interventions for PTSD to sexual concerns among trauma survivors.

Presenter Bio:  

Dr. Linda Baggett is a licensed psychologist specializing in trauma, sexuality, and body acceptance. She currently oversees women's psychotherapy at a local VA medical center and also maintains a private telehealth therapy practice focusing on her niches. She received her PhD in counseling psychology at the University of Memphis and has numerous publications on the topics of trauma and sexuality.
