This presentation will empower participants in the working with couples for issues in intimacy and sex. 

Learning objectives include:

  • Advance your skills in treating clients who are struggling with sex and intimacy. 
  • Learn about the most common sexual dysfunctions and the PLISSIT model – an effective tool for treating sex related issues. Understand the importance of dispelling sexual myths and normalizing in treatment. 
  • Identify ways to encourage clients to discuss/explore/communicate about sex and intimacy in session and with their partners.
  • Appreciate the complexity of sexual issues and often the need for a multi-disciplinary approach (e.g. medical, physical, psychological, etc.) and the importance of knowing when to refer out. 
  • Lastly learn some of the top mistakes therapists make when talking about sex or treating sexual problems.


OC CAMFT’s 3000 Club is a gathering of pre-licensed MFT/LPCC/LCSWs (students, trainees and interns) for networking, information & Fun!

Presenter Bio:

Liz Dube' is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist. She has a MS in Counseling, and a MA in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from CSU Long Beach. Prior to becoming a clinician she worked as a Professional Development Trainer and Organization Consultant in the corporate world. She began her work in sexuality as a Romance Consultant, educating primarily women and couples about sex and intimacy. 

Currently she has a private practice in Long Beach & Huntington Beach, CA where she works with individuals and couples on increasing intimacy, communication, and sexual satisfaction. Liz is also passionate about speaking to groups and blogging on her website www.talksexwithliz.com to get others excited about having fun in the bedroom and empowering them to achieve their full sexual potential.
